The Alpine Shire

The Alpine Shire in North East Victoria is home to some of Victoria's most popular tourist spots and its idyllic lifestyle draws people away from the city all year round. Whether you are looking for fine wine and dinning, outdoor adventure or a tranquil retreat, it has something for everyone throughout all four of its distinctly contrasting seasons.

A renowned foody haven, the Alpine Shire offers a food and wine trail to please the most discerning palate. For the more adventurous, on top of having the ski resorts of Mount Buffalo, Mount Hotham and Falls Creek on the doorstep, there are miles of mountain bike and hiking trails, as well as climbing and rafting to name a few of the activities on offer. If it's a more peaceful escape from the city hum that you're looking for, the picturesque towns surrounded by imposing mountain peaks offer the perfect escape. It's no wonder people are moving here by the dozen. This is country living at its best!
